We currently have an opportunity for a Business Analyst , supporting a financial sector client of ours.
Requirements:
- Working with the CMHC lines of business (clients) to outline new requirements and document potential alternatives for options analysis.
- Supporting the options analysis, review, and decision-making process.
- Developing requirements documents for the chosen alternative using business requirements templates or User Stories as per our Agile Environment.
- Performing business analysis of functional and systems requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows.
- Evaluating existing business systems and identify and document items such as business rules logic, customizations, data element definitions, and downstream impact analysis.
- Mapping of current state to future, if required, including gap analysis.
- Analyzing, defining, documenting, and implementing new business rules as required.
- Defining and documenting interfaces of manual to automated operations within internal business systems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems including connectivity to third party partners and clients.
- Working with CMHC's IT Division in the translation of business requirements to system requirements.
- Working with Product Managers, Delivery Leads and Product Owners in support of agile delivery user story creation, backlog refinement and estimation of user stories.
- Establishing acceptance test criteria with client support and use the selected departmental methodologies including Agile and Hybrid Agile.
- A minimum College Diploma/Certificate with a concentration in Business, Administration, or Business Analysis; or a certificate in Business Analysis (CBAP); or a relevant certification in Agile methodologies; or a combination of education and related experience in Information Technology, Public Administration, or the financial sector with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Business Analyst role.
- An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Must have strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience in the elicitation of requirements, as it relates to the software delivery lifecycle; or experience in Agile software delivery methods
- Must have a functional understanding of government, financial or insurance industries
- Broad knowledge of Finance, Banking, or Insurance systems.
- Demonstrated ability to write features and user stories (agile mindset) which convey the business needs to developers translating into the required solution
