As a Litigation Associate, you will engage in sophisticated and challenging commercial litigation work for clients in South Carolina and nationwide. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial litigation experience, along with deposition and trial experience. This position will focus on business litigation, including LLC membership and shareholder disputes, trust, private & estate litigation, and contractual disputes. Property tax litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of the litigation process, from investigation and pleadings through discovery, trial, and settlement.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and file all necessary legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and briefs.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, discuss strategies, and address any concerns.
- Conduct and defend depositions, including witness preparation and examination.
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other judicial proceedings.
- Oversee the discovery process, including the collection, review, and production of documents and electronic data.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active South Carolina bar license
- 5+ years' professional commercial litigation law practice experience
- Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
- Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
- Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
