Valtir is currently looking to hire an Outside Sales Representative for our West Coast territory to help develop and manage key accounts within the states of CA, OR, and WA.
Valtir has been an industry leader and global supplier of highway safety products for over 50 years. Working with industry partners and safety experts, Valtir continues to bring the next generation of innovative safety products to a dynamically changing market. Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets.
We are searching for a qualified and results-oriented individual to provide outstanding customer service through both sales and rental channels of our business by interacting with established customers and by developing new prospects in person, and occasionally on the telephone and through cold calls. In addition, this role will include the oversight of multiple distribution partnerships, tracking of projects and inventory, overall business and product development- working closely with architectural, engineering and design firms regarding product specification and acceptance.
Location: Remote - West Coast
Must be able to work 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
What You'll Do
The Outside Sales Professional will report directly to the Regional Manager and will be instrumental in supporting the business plan through profitable revenue generation The Sales Professional's primary responsibility is to serve our customers timely through the sale and rental of Valtir's products and services, and coordinate these various accounts efficiently to grow the business through outstanding customer service, customer and project visits and sales call related efforts governing the West Coast territory Telephone prospective customers and solicit business Attend Regional conferences and seminars Maintain contact with and act as a liaison to existing and potential new customers and distributors Work closely with Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative(S) and Dispatch Remain in close communication with Service Team and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met Work in harmony with distributors to meet customer expectations Monitor rental and sales inventory and track project trends and product cycles Inform customers of supply and price trends and prepare quotations Negotiate prices with customers, within established limits Secure, review, process, and expedite orders Write orders, keep records, maintain files, and create reports on all phases of activities including sales recaps Track orders through the system until timely delivery of products Provide input regarding forecast figures Work with distributor sales team to improve efficiency of product offering and sales effort Provide technical guidance to customers, project owners, and affiliates Data-mine and research projects and bidding opportunities Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3 years sales experience, strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills 3 years of experience in the construction industry and sales and customer service success, in either vertical, commercial, or highway/traffic safety 3 years of equipment rental experience, with an emphasis on safety related products preferred Experience with reading civil, site, maintenance of traffic and phasing plans, and familiarity with construction schedules a plus Ability to work on a flexible schedule, which may include extended work hours
Proficient computer skills with extensive experience using Microsoft Office and CRM platform
Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work on a team and independently Experience in Traffic Safety, understanding of MUTCD standards Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
