Job Summary
This role will a HIPAA Policy Analyst reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the data privacy, administration, and information policy aspects of IU's Critical Health Data program

Job Summary
This role will a HIPAA Policy Analyst reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the data privacy, administration, and information policy aspects of IU's Critical Health Data program
General Responsibilities
- Performs experienced research to acquire and maintain expertise of federal, state, local law and regulations, as well as IU policies related to data protection, privacy and information security; interprets legal documents and media articles to assess impact on interpretation and implementation; monitors and reports on changes to legislation and case law; prepares advice and supporting documentation for recommended changes to policies, standards and procedures.
- Develops communications and advises stakeholders on all campuses regarding information policy and privacy activities, policies and procedures, updates to applicable regulations, and changes to operations and compliance expectations/obligations; regularly interacts with university officials and staff as well as those external to the university; responds to inquiries, information requests, and/or triage requests; updates information policy and privacy content on division website; drafts correspondence, prepare and deliver presentations, and perform research.
- Provides experienced analysis and consulting on existing or proposed business process systems and revises systems and related procedures; supports clients by designing and maintaining websites and web-based applications; designs and manages website user interface features, database interactions, and utilizes a variety of technical tools.
- Develops, manages, and/or coordinates information and data privacy policy activities and initiatives; serves as an experienced liaison to provide assistance and access to resources as appropriate; performs more complex assessments, prepares and performs data analysis, conducts research, and creates various reports.
- Develops and coordinates education initiatives, including tracking materials and preparing periodic reporting on activities; prepares and delivers presentations.
- May provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree
- Degree in business administration, data administration, information technology, cybersecurity risk management, or related field
Required
- 2 years of policy development, data administration, legal, regulatory compliance, systems development, or closely related experience
- Experience in administering technology or data-oriented policies and other guidance
- Experience working with HIPPA
