Summary

The SEO Manager helps to drive forward the SEO strategy and program, specifically in the areas of content utility local SEO, on-page optimization, and link-building. This person must be able to analyze and leverage data to provide actionable, measurable insights. We are looking for someone with a customer-first mindset that exhibits a strong ability to collaborate and influence various stakeholders across the organization and an ability to support the overall strategies set for the company. This is a cross-functional role charged with identifying areas of opportunity to drive Natural + Local Search revenue and instilling SEO best practices across the company.

This role reports into the Senior Manager, SEO.

Key Accountabilities
  • Execute and socialize a robust, large scale and long-term SEO strategy.
  • Optimize content and local listings to ultimately increase organic traffic and page authority.
  • Analyze data, industry news, the latest SEO technologies to identify trends, issues, areas for opportunity and create actionable plans to improve KPIs.
  • Evangelize SEO throughout the organization, educating staff on both technical and content best practices.
  • Work closely with Technology to develop plan for each product lifecycle, including writing technical user stories and ensuring the SEO backlog is always full.
  • Partner with internal PR teams to ensure SEO is a key part of their strategy and IHG is fully leveraging opportunities for link building.
  • Provide consultation and direction on site & product launches to ensure SEO best practices are being followed.
  • Manage Local SEO and Google Business Profiles, including 3rd party vendor and hotel onboarding.
  • Understand how SEO can and should fit into broader company goals.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, E-Commerce, Technology, Marketing or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • 3-5 years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position including experience managing large scale SEO programs.
  • Knowledge of SEO content strategies and proven success with implementation
  • Knowledge of SEO technical strategies and proven success with implementation
  • Partners with other Product Managers to align product roadmaps and service and optimize overall user experience.
  • Proactively researches and evaluates feasibility of any new technologies that may improve the product.
  • History of working credibly with senior stakeholders and motivating colleagues across multiple levels
  • Adapts personal communication style to the style of others, develops rapport and stays calm under pressure or escalating issues using advanced oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written skills including strong cross-cultural communication and the ability to draft effective communications.
  • Utilizes all aspects of Emotional Intelligence to navigate the interactions and complexities of the business environment and drive leadership performance in oneself and in others.
  • Experience in Agile product management
  • Passionate, committed and determined.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics a plus
  • Experience with a "house of brands" helpful

Owns
  • This position makes decisions regarding SEO strategy & tactics.
  • This position provides legal direction & guidance, in partnership with internal legal experts.
  • This position negotiates contracts and performs revenue analysis.
  • This position makes recommendations and decisions on vendor relationships and partnerships and programs with internal teams.

The salary range for this role is $80,500 to $102,000. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
