About the team
The Sales Compensation Team at Stripe is responsible for the overall compensation strategy, design, and payment administration for the global sales organization. We ensure that Stripe's objectives align with the compensation program and that our sales teams are paid accurately and timely. We provide thought leadership for the go-to market initiatives so that performance and compensation are effectively correlated. The Sales Comp team partners closely with the revenue generating and support functions across Stripe to support the success of our sales efforts.
What you'll do
Stripe's Sales Compensation Team has an opening for an experienced compensation manager to own the payment process for the sales organization. The person will oversee the end to end steps of data capture, review, calculations, communications, questions and exception handling, and payment submission. This role will be the main point of contact for the compensation calculations and payment execution. This person will lead two analysts to prioritize accurate and timely compensation. The successful candidate will be a detailed and process driven supervisor with comfort and patience for handling sensitive compensation issues. They will anticipate and monitor payment issues and effectively communicate with partners and stakeholders.
This role can be based out of South San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Chicago, or Remote-US (preference to on-site 50% of time).

Responsibilities
- Accountable to deliver accurate and on-time payments to all roles with variable sales compensation structures.
- Lead two analysts to collect, compute, review, report, and submit compensation data.
- Supervise the analysts to respond to inquiries and serve as the escalation point as needed.
- Leverage both Google Sheets and an ICM tool to manage the payment process.
- Partner closely with the broader Sales Comp team, HR, Sales Ops, and the sales leadership to continually assess and improve the payment experience for the sales team.
- Ensure compliance with Internal Audit and SOX regulations and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting records.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the sales function, product priorities, and individual sales team characteristics.

Minimum requirements
- BS or BA in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, or Statistics.
- 8+ years of experience in a sales compensation payment role.
- 3+ years as a key point of contact with senior Sales, Finance, and HR leadership.
- 4+ years managing team members in a sales compensation payment role.
- Experience with CRM (e.g. Salesforce) and ICM (e.g. Captivate IQ, Varicent, Xactly) tools.
- Experience with reporting tools and Tableau.
- Strong logic, problem solving, and Excel modeling skills.
- Very organized and attentive to detail, with excellent prioritization skills that allow you to consistently deliver quality results on time.
- Ability to forge strong bonds, work collaboratively with, and influence internal partners such as other Sales channels, Finance, and Business Applications.
- MBA or applicable Masters degree
- Previous experience managing others
- Experience in Sales or Sales Operations roles
- SQL programming experience
