Description:

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking an IT Governance Project Manager who will be responsible for administration aspects of our client's Approval To Operate (ATO) efforts. This candidate will be working with IT Governance/Security team leads, Organizational Stakeholders and Program Managers to produce documentation, reports and assessments necessary for Information Technology ATOs.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Serve as the IT Governance Project Manager and be able to lead projects from initiation to completion.
  • Will be responsible for project documentation such as project charter, project schedule, acquisition plan, risk register, etc.
  • Experience with Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA)
  • Will be responsible for leading projects that assist customers through predetermined and structured Approval to Operate (ATO) Process.
  • Review and manage pipeline of active and incoming ATO packages for compliance and approvals.
  • Assist with Security Control Assessments using Risk Management Framework and NIST-800-53 while incorporating stakeholder interviews and artifact reviews.
  • Work in collaboration with the IT security team to complete all Authority to Operate (ATO) activities, including implementing security assessments and authorizations (SA&A) of the client's systems.
  • Provide recommendations for improving security processes and procedures, analyze existing IT security processes and procedures to meet new IT security requirements.
  • Perform pre-assessment control reviews, gather artifacts, complete system security and associated plan updates, and other documentation review and updates.
  • Defines and communicates project success and acceptance criteria and approvals, communicating them to involved parties throughout the project life cycl
  • Assists project stakeholders in preparing for steering committee (e.g., developing artifacts). Manages their schedule and communicates with stakeholders and security leads.
  • Conducts system assessment and authorization (A&A) activities and advise the Government on recommended security control implementations and risk mitigations.
  • Perform Oversight and Compliance Verification Assessment and Continuous Monitoring, Contingency Plan Development and Evaluation, Vulnerability Scanning and Auditing, and Security Program Assessment Support.
  • Ensures that the processes for the client's systems continue to occur at the required intervals, or whenever major changes are implemented.
  • Ensure standards are followed as directed by Department Leads.

Requirements:
  • Clearance:
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
    • Project management certification preferred.
    • Cybersecurity certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience
    • Experience with cybersecurity assessments and reviews.
    • Experience with project management and leading projects from inception to completion.
    • Led efforts for ATOs.
    • Experience producing quality documentation.
    • Experience working with Federal government clients.
    • Experience working in in collaborative teams on complex topics.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) knowledge and experience
    • Cyber Security knowledge and experience
    • Risk Management Framework
    • NIST 800-53
    • Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience
    • SharePoint knowledge and experience a plus
    • Cloud knowledge and experience a plus
