SUMMARY:
The Regulatory Specialist Raw Materials is to support the Regulatory Team, and to keep current with industry regulations, providing interpretations for the completion of internal and external customer requests. The Regulatory Specialist Raw Materials is to comprehend and interpret current regulatory matters related to raw materials (flavors, fragrance, and cosmetic raw materials) and notify management of any situations that may expose Robertet or Robertet's clients to undue risk.

The Regulatory Specialist Raw Materials is to support the Regulatory Team, and to keep current with industry regulations, providing interpretations for the completion of internal and external customer requests. The Regulatory Specialist Raw Materials is to comprehend and interpret current regulatory matters related to raw materials (flavors, fragrance, and cosmetic raw materials) and notify management of any situations that may expose Robertet or Robertet's clients to undue risk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in regulatory inquiries and/or projects
- Conduct raw material review to ensure compliance with various global Regulatory requirements (review and interpretation of supplier provided raw material documents)
- Enter Raw Material information into systems, ensuring it is done accurately and thoroughly
- Comprehend and determine global legality status of raw materials
- Remain informed on current issues with various industry and government agencies and NGOs
- Understand and utilize automated programs within commercial and/or proprietary software, i.e., ingredient statements, screening for allergens, and review possible hazards
- Commitment to Robertet and SQF Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems
- Partnership and correspondence with external rw material vendors.
- Ongoing communication and information transfer with Robertet's Chemists.
- Participation in meetings with Robertet's Quality Control Team.
- Active support of cross-functional initiatives, including new upcoming initiatives/projects with the Technology team.
- Other duties, as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Technical knowledge in one or more of basic food & flavors, fragrance, cosmetics sciences and associated regulations
- Ability to review, analyze and Interpret Governmental regulations, professional journals, technical procedures and general business documents.
- Detail oriented

- Good Presentation and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships both within and outside of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science/Nutrition (or related Science) with a minimum of 2 years Regulatory or related industry experience
- Alternately: Bachelor's Degree (non-Technical) with a minimum of 5 years Regulatory or related industry experience.
- Cross Functional Team Experience.
Preferred:
- Advanced technical degrees: MS/ MBA
- Demonstrated project management and risk assessment experience.
- Active membership and participation in industry organizations (i.e.: FEMA, IFT, FCA, IFRA, PCPC)
