Salary: $115,000-$130,000, DOQ

Summary:
The Associate Director of Technology will play a key role in advancing the school district's technology initiatives, assisting in managing the day-to-day operations of the technology department, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology into the educational experience. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Technology and collaborates with various stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, and IT staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the ongoing planning processes for technology uses in the district, including, data, video, voice and physical security systems
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school district's network infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive network strategy aligned with the district's goals.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the network through regular monitoring, maintenance, and updates.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution when necessary.
  • Manage the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software assets.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies that align with the district's educational objectives.
  • Ensure that all hardware and software installations comply with relevant licensing and security standards.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and threats in cybersecurity, implementing measures to mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with the others to ensure adherence to data privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology in the development and management of the technology budget.
  • Monitor expenditures, negotiate contracts, and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Serve as district authority for Federal E-rate application filing and responder for SLD inquiries
  • Educate district staff regarding policies related to copyright, network security, data privacy to help ensure that they are successfully followed
  • Assist Director with the annual planning, procurement, installation, updating, and disposal of technology related equipment
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven IT leadership experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with educational technology trends and tools.
  • Industry standard certifications are a plus.
