About the Team
VIZIO's legal team is seeking a motivated and adaptable attorney to join our growing Legal Compliance and Policy team. As Counsel, Products and Special Projects, you will report to VIZIO's Director, Compliance and Policy Counsel and work closely with other attorneys supporting both VIZIO's Platform+ and hardware businesses. The focus for this role will be primarily related to new software products and features, with additional support for other compliance programs as needed, including hardware and corporate operations.
The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled, detail-oriented attorney, who is capable of multi-tasking, has exceptional writing skills (writing for business), and can be flexible enough to work on diverse legal projects and take direction from multiple team leaders.

For California-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $130,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $168,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.

What You Will Do
- Advise key business partners on all aspects of the product-lifecycle from initial concept to the launch of new products, features, and functionality across VIZIO products and services.
- Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential issues and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Proactively identify, prioritize, and develop strategies to address complex business and legal issues in an agile, innovative, and evolving technology-driven business environment.
- Establish and implement compliance best practices by keeping up-to-date on applicable data privacy, artificial intelligence, consumer protection, advertising and intellectual property laws and regulations.
- Review and advise on marketing campaigns and communication strategies related to new products or features, including reviewing marketing collateral and other consumer-facing materials.
- Prepare forms, charts, presentations, training materials, and other documentation as assigned.
- Support other legal function areas as assigned.
About You
- You have a passion for project management, digital media, and technology.
- 5+ years of legal experience as an attorney either in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
- Possess a Juris Doctorate from a U.S.-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in-house counsel.
- Working knowledge of U.S. online privacy rules; privacy certifications highly desirable (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM).
- Willingness to take on new projects, learn new areas of the law, and step up to support the team on issues that may be unfamiliar to you.
- Able to handle multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong writing skills - writing for business, ability to succinctly explain key points/critical issues.
- Self-motivated, extremely well organized with exceptional attention to detail, genuine curiosity, and a can-do positive attitude to contribute to the success of the team.
- Ability to work well in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment, as well as in a small team environment, maintaining a sense of humor.
