Overview
The Oradell Public School District is a one-school district, serving 800 students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. The director of curriculum is housed in the school, and the position has a component of higher level curriculum development as well as oversight of classroom implementation.

Essential Functions
  • Develops, implements and oversees the school district's curriculum and instructional programs in accordance with district goals.
  • Plans, coordinates and directs professional development programs and activities.
  • Directs the selection and adoption of instructional materials.
  • Serves as the district's testing coordinator.
  • Interprets, evaluates and analyzes student assessment and program evaluation results for the purpose of improving instruction.
  • Works with staff and administration to develop programs and incorporate practices that help students of differing abilities and interests to achieve high standards.
  • Evaluates certified staff and provides assistance and resources as needed.
  • Develops and directs school, community and parent involvement programs as appropriate to the instructional programs in the District.
  • Directs the development and management of state and federal grant proposals and budgets.
  • Plans, compiles and manages the local budget for the Department of Instruction.
  • Oversees state-mandated data submissions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of NJDOE's state mandated curriculum.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects.
  • Strong technology skills and an ability to learn data platforms (i.e. Linkit!, Excel, Pearson Access Next, NJ Smart)
  • Ability to analyze data and formulate action plans.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community and others contacted in the course of work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
Qualifications Profile
  • NJ State Certification as a Supervior or Director.
  • 5 years teaching expereince in grades K-6.
