Job Summary
The Principal Infrastructure Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for hardware and software development of production MEMS test and calibration systems. This includes electronics circuit development, board-level hardware design, and validation on both custom and standard automated test equipment (ATE) platforms. Through design of robust and reliable test hardware, the candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products through effective testing. Job Summary
The Principal Infrastructure Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for hardware and software development of production MEMS test and calibration systems. This includes electronics circuit development, board-level hardware design, and validation on both custom and standard automated test equipment (ATE) platforms. Through design of robust and reliable test hardware, the candidate plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products through effective testing. We are looking for a highly motivated individual interested in collaborating with a cross-functional team to execute on the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Perform custom hardware board design to support testing of MEMS Timing products. This includes creating load boards, probe cards, special fixtures, handling kits, and sockets
- Manage vendors, debug and deploy hardware to support volume ramp
- Collaborate with Test engineering team to collect requirements and write hardware design specifications. Work with overseas Operations personnel to release hardware into production
- Translate device specifications into system test requirements and design circuits and systems for accurate and efficient testing of spec parameters
- Support other projects as needed by management or as business needs evolve
Requirements:
- Minimum BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum 5-years of related work experience
- A strong foundation in electronics, including analog and digital circuit design, is essential. You'll work extensively with hardware components and interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with electronics lab instrumentation. Prior experience with metrology systems for evaluating timing parameters is preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency and experience in PCB hardware design and associated tools - Altium Designer is used at SiTime. These tools facilitate schematic capture, layout, and component management.
- Deep knowledge of basic IPs commonly used in semiconductor products, such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, oscillators, PMUs, DC/DC converters, high-speed IOs, and communication interfaces
- Revision control methodologies and verification and validation techniques
- Proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, or other relevant languages is preferred. These skills are necessary for working with test programs and automating tasks to validate the hardware design before deployment
