The Sensing Management Branch (AFRL/RYAR), Sensors Directorate, seeks to hire a Senior-level, Technical Advisor, DR-03 to DR-04 in Dayton, OH.
This position is open to candidates currently at the DR-03 (or equivalent grade) level eligible for promotion and/or current DR-04 (or equivalent grade) level candidates for reassignment.
Position duties include but are not limited to:
Advise all projects and programs across the branch, guiding Government Engineers and Scientists in their interactions with other DoD components and DoD contractors as the premier technical expert.
Lead Advisor to branch engineers and scientists for all relevant technical development areas, including sensing management technologies, including multi-sensor/multi-platform automation in the areas of sensor data fusion, sense-making, decision-making, and sensor orchestration.
Lead branch interface with directorate Capability Area Leads (CAL) and Technical Area Leads (TAL), to push technical developments to the warfighter, and to respond to capability pull requirements.
Actively coordinates and advises with OSD and other DoD agencies such as the Army, Navy, and DARPA or other national and international organizations in these areas.
Prepares, reviews, or directs briefings and decision papers which inform AFRL and peer organizations across the research community on the status and advances in these programs.
Uses knowledge to respond to changing priorities within the Department of the Air Force and lead in a dynamic, team-oriented environment; and performs other duties as assigned.

- United States Citizenship
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, or equivalent in other pay systems. This includes experience in sensor fusion, resource orchestration, management for autonomous sensing, sensing interface/architecture development and assessment, sensing decision-making strategies. Experience in developing, maturing, and/or producing sensors, sense-making, autonomy or spectrum warfare technologies, development and management of technical/research and development programs, systems engineering experience, and leadership of cross-organizational teams.

- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret with access to SCI and SAP security clearance, as condition of employment.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
- This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (N); experience is 4 years; and the selectee will have 60-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. *Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications in their resume.

- Experience in coordination of classified projects and facilities.
- Technical expertise in sensors and/or spectrum warfare technologies.
- Significant experience of managing highly technical contracted projects.
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills for technical and senior leader audiences.
- The ability to perform TDY travel approximately 25% time.
- PCS expenses, if authorized, will be paid IAW the JTR and Air Force regulations. Centrally managed PCS costs are paid by the Career Field Team. No DNRP authorized.
