Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is an executive leader that has the primary enterprise accountability of the organization's data and analytics (D&A) assets to drive value for State of Kansas business stakeholders. This includes creation and management of data and analytics strategy, data governance and execution of related programs and practices that drive measurable business outcomes. This role involves establishing, leading, and operating the data and analytics function; developing talent and mature data-driven decision culture; building trust and managing data; and evolving technology capabilities.

- This position is eligible for OITS's hybrid work program. The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule.
- Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $130,000 / annual

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's in business administration; science technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); computer science; data science; information systems or related field; or equivalent work experience. Academic qualification or professional training or experience in legal and regulatory areas are also desirable.
- Knowledge in enterprise data related technology such as Enterprise Data Warehouse, Extract, Transform, Load methodology, Integration as a Platform services, API management or Data Integration as a Service Platforms.
- Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams, multidisciplinary environments and enterprise-wide data and analytics programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
