Field Test Engineer

FIELD TEST ENGINEER
Aversan Inc. ( www.aversan.com ) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Field Test Engineer towork on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

Location: New York, U.S. (On-site)
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Field Change modification to existing Designs as needed; Perform field troubleshooting, maintenance in, CBTC equipment such as vehicle and wayside systems, and other external tasks related to test documentation and formalization of reports;
• Perform on-site installation and maintenance of Non- CBTC and CBTC equipment for wayside systems;
• Identify problems detected during tests and take corrective action as required;
• Support troubleshooting and repair CBTC equipment as required;
• Provide support of test Carborne and Wayside activities and the planning of field activities;
• Provide technical support in all operational matters in the functionality of wayside subsystems;
• Work with diverse departments and becomes involved in all phases of integration, commissioning and support;
• Investigate/Troubleshoot system anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departments;
• Provide summaries and detailing of test activities in the form of both informal and formal test reports.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of automatic train control systems concepts and principles as well as current existing signaling standards;
• Field experience in a rail transit installation, test or support environment or similar technology application is of significance;
• Experience in support of field activities & installation and testing of train control systems;
• Experience in customer interaction and adapting of their processes;
• Working knowledge of Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) products with respect to installation support and testing a strong asset;
• Strong process orientation and discipline to ensure compliance with both Corporate and Customer procedures;
• Critical thinking, able to identify and implement better efficiencies and process improvements;
• Experience in deploying fixed block signaling systems a strong asset;
• Typically 1-2 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
