POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Manager of Program Operations will provide managerial level support within UW Medical Center-Northwest Security and Public Safety department, overseeing and managing the day-to-day operation to ensure a secure, orderly, and safe environment

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The UW Medical Center - Northwest Security and Public Safety team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at the Northwest campus in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines
Hospital Security provides assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of Northwest, in both patient and non-patient areas

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, direct, and evaluate the daily operations of the public safety department; evaluates and draft policies and procedures to support the mission, vision, and values of public safety at UW Medical Center-Northwest; obtain input from both security and healthcare team members as directed, in drafting policies and procedures
Supervise the Public Safety supervisory team; lead, collaborate with, and support the supervisory team to create best practices in the oversight of operations; create ongoing opportunities for an exchange of ideas and ensure timely cascading of information in both verbal and written formats. Round with direct reports and maintain an active and current stoplight report for staff; respond to critical events and participate in discussions and committees to assess responses
Provide guidelines for professional development of staff and facilitate access to training opportunities that align with guidelines
Ensure proper use and functioning of physical security systems such as access control, panic alarms, and surveillance systems
Provide annual performance assessments for direct reports and assist in providing performance assessments for staff
Support UW Medicine/UW Medical Center-Northwest Public Safety Physical Security programs and technology: Report Exec statistics management (EOCC, WPVP/PSC, IAPC, Clery, ODB); Guardcard employee ID and Vuetura visitor ID systems management; infant abduction prevention system oversight; CAAMS (Computer Automated Access Management System) troubleshooting
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, and a minimum of five years' experience in Security Services, and 2 years of supervisory or managerial responsibility
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for minimum qualifications
