SBM Life Science is seeking a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to be a key leader at our production facility in Pasadena, TX. This EHS Manager will be vital in creating a safe and compliant workplace for our team members. We are seeking an individual that is passionate in their pursuit of creating environments where employees are safe and productive and has been successful developing, implanting and improving company programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Our EHS Manager will be a collaborative team member that works with the greater team to implement and enforce policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Our EHS Manager will be a collaborative team member that works with the greater team to implement and enforce policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of short and long-term EH&S objectives.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and report on new or improved systems, processes, and procedures for Environmental and Safety control and regulatory compliance.
- Lead the investigation of EH&S incidents using the global EH&S process.
- Direct all EH&S activities including planning, implementing, and managing technical performance to ensure quality and financial objectives are attained.
- Manages EH&S project(s) including project design and schedule to meet objectives.
- Implement strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability.
- Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs safety inspections, and monitors hazardous waste removal vendors. Interacting with various departments conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
- Manage the site disposal and waste program - Hazardous, Non-hazardous, Drum and Totes
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations and complete all regulatory reporting requirements (Fire, OSHA, EPA)
- Ensures, and maintains all necessary permits for Environmental and Regulatory Compliance.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses and develop corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs on HSE topics for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field highly preferred.
Work Experience:
- 8 -12 years of industry experience in Safety and Environmental Compliance or related field
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal HSE regulations
- Experience developing and delivering training materials
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Chemical formulation experience preferred
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a broad knowledge of the methods and practices for conducting accident and workplace safety audits and investigations required
- Must demonstrate an extensive technical understanding of environmental health and safety principles, concepts, theories, regulations, and practices
- Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of practices and methods for developing and administering a comprehensive EHS program, including designing employee EHS training programs.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
