Fluor, together with its joint-venture partner AECOM, has been awarded a four-year program delivery support services contract for the California High-Speed Rail program by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to provide program delivery and program management services to support one of the largest planned infrastructure projects in the U.S.
The system will connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area, with up to 24 stations. The first phase of the program is currently under construction in California's Central Valley.
The Deputy Principal in Charge shall assist the Principal-in-Charge in leading consultant staff in support of the
development and implementation of the Authority's construction projects through all project phases. They will
oversee PDS Infrastructure Delivery, Real Property and Environmental teams. This individual shall delegate for the Principal in Charge when appropriate and be accountable for the execution of the Program Delivery Support (PDS) services to the California High-speed Rail Authority on behalf of the AECOM-FLUOR joint venture.
This individual shall lead the PDS team provide guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on numerous
products. This individual shall have the ability to think strategically and have a long- range goal in mind.
Oversee PDS Infrastructure Delivery, Real Property and Environmental teams.
Accountable to Authority Executives and the Joint Venture Board for successful execution of the PDS
services.
Liaise with Authority Branch Directors to ensure effective and efficient co-ordination of activities to
achieve successful execution of the Authority's program and projects.
Proactive identification of issues that could impact the successful execution of the Program. This involves
elevating impacting issues and framing and/or positioning ideas to resolve the problem.
Independent leadership of special projects.
Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the principal in charge to facilitate
efficient decision making. Provides oversight and guidance to matters of high importance.
Basic Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
15 years of experience in project delivery of infrastructure projects of similar size, scope and
complexity preferred.
Professional Engineer
Other Job Requirements
Experience of leading complex major rail projects or programs.
Demonstrable gravitas in liaising with industry executives, elected officials, senior state and federal officers.
Ability to analyze and inspire innovative solutions to complex challenges.
