Job Description
NYC Health and Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Information Systems Administrator, to join our division to provide support to Radiology and Medical Imaging Systems across the organization. This analyst will be responsible for day-to-day support, liaise between IT and business, to gather projects scope requirements, design and technical documents, implementation planning, coordinate with vendors, support the department and/or staff training programs to meet the needs of radiological & medical imaging services for the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis or related in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience as described above; or
3. A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
4. Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.

NYC Health and Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Information Systems Administrator, to join our division to provide support to Radiology and Medical Imaging Systems across the organization. This analyst will be responsible for day-to-day support, liaise between IT and business, to gather projects scope requirements, design and technical documents, implementation planning, coordinate with vendors, support the department and/or staff training programs to meet the needs of radiological & medical imaging services for the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the day-to-day operation of all current Radiology Information System, Clinical Information Systems and Other Medical Imaging Applications, including but not limited to the picture archiving and communication system (PACS), the radiology information system (RIS), PowerScribe (voice recognition) and other advanced processing imaging applications.
- Proactively communicate status of key activities, risks, and issues to the project manager as needed.
- Respond to user request, record and troubleshoot system trends and affect corrective action plans; track, communicate software problems and issues to software development, support teams and/or vendor.
- Support the installation of new DICOM modality connections and analyzes HL7 interface transactions to validate data workflow. Understands integration design among multi-platform systems.
- Help implement best practices and standards in radiology and imaging processes.
- Guide separate radiology systems integration into a single platform, tightly integrated with multiple EHR; as H+H uses a single Epic system.
- Monitors status, identifies trends, and prepares reports on quality measures, performance metrics, or other department goals and objectives.
- Conducts activities related to identifying and managing project risks: such as compliance activities, testing and documentation, information security awareness, adherence, and risk management process; and business continuity.
- Support ad-hoc projects and/or assignments.
- Participate in application upgrades, including writing new test scripts as needed, conducting testing, working with end users on newly added (or modified) functionality, and supporting the upgrade's migration into production.
- Participation in other application upgrades patch installations and infrastructure changes that impact Radiology and Imaging system, including conducting regression testing, and supporting the move to production.
- Participate in user groups and project teams, convening conference calls and meetings.
- Lead or participate in infrastructure updates, upgrades, patch installations, and changes that impact our clinical systems, including conducting regression testing, and supporting the move to production.
- Use management tools within the applications to create reports, graphs, pivot charts and other mechanisms to assist in decision making.
- Communicate with users, clinical leadership, support teams, ESD, EOC, managers, directors and/or vendors on issues and activities updates.
- Responsible for acting on end-user access requests or termination requests consistent with H+H access management policies and procedures.
- Manage & maintain user management process and procedures consistent with H+H policies and procedures.
- Due to the responsibilities of this position, employee will be required to work beyond the regularly scheduled hours/tour (i.e. as needed for off-hours implementations to best accommodate the clinical department operations & clinical care, respond to urgent issues during off-hours support program, etc.)
- Provide exceptional customer service, build a great working relationship with customers, vendors, and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.

- Previous experience with PACS Systems PowerScribe 360 and other Radiology imaging applications required. Experience with McKesson Radiology and Conserus Products, PowerScribe 360, Penrad, and Epic is a plus.
- Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) experience a plus.
- Experience with system architecture design, clinical system workflow development required.
- Strong technical, software & infrastructure experience a plus.
