Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain and Operations, the Warehouse Manager manages the timely delivery of raw material to production and the effective dispatching of finished product to warehouse and customers, ensuring material is accounted for and stored safely and securely along the process. This role leads the effective operation of two sites as well as third party warehouses and transportation partners to deliver handling, storage and transportation on time and on cost while maintaining associate safety and complying with food safety practices.

Responsibilities
  • Achieves operating targets related to inventory accuracy, customer service, inventory protection, transactional integrity, budget adherence, health and safety, good manufacturing practices, and employee engagement.
  • Develops and maintains strong inventory management practices.
  • Key team lead of Warehouse Management System roll-out.
  • Ensures that ERP transactions are executed accurately and timely.
  • Leads physical inventory counts and continuous cycle counting activities.
  • Manages and optimizes relationships with third party warehousing and transportation partners
  • Ensures that all Health and Safety, SQF and GMP related requirements are met.
  • Promotes and enhances a positive work environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee engagement.
  • Monitors and reports warehouse KPIs.
  • Acts as a back-up to other managers or supervisors in the supply chain and operations management team.
  • Manages a team of associates through daily warehouse activities.
  • Role models the company values and ensures development of team members through efficient training required for current and future demands.
  • Works closely with cross-functional peers to ensure effective flow of material between production and warehouse and coordinates smooth shift handovers
  • Ensures that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the company's Health and Safety policy.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned (HACCP, Continuous improvement activities, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Schedules direct reports based on production needs, completes time & attendance.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive warehouse management experience
  • Experience working with fast moving consumer packaged goods
  • Excellent people leadership and development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledgeable in ERP Systems preferably SAGE, and strong Warehouse Management System knowledge


Physical/Working Conditions
  • Must wear personal protective equipment while on the plant floor (including warehouse areas): Safety shoes, safety glasses, company uniform
  • Must wear hygiene required PPE while on the plant floor (including warehouse areas): Hair net, beard/moustache net (if applicable)
  • Due to the environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Regular communication with outside truck drivers, including outdoor yard management.
  • Must be flexible to work multiple shifts, days, afternoons, and nights, as well as occasional weekends.
