Job Summary:
The New Product Sales Director manages the day-to-day quoting activity of the New Product Sales Specialists within their product vertical. Creating a winning proposal requires an ability to accurately ascertain the customer's need, correctly size and select a solution, negotiate a competitive price from our suppliers as appropriate, and translate this into a compelling offer to the customer. The New Product Sales Director and the Technical Sales Representative may serve as an internal subject matter expert (SME) on specific product lines and/or applications.

The New Product Sales Director and the Technical Sales Representative may serve as an internal subject matter expert (SME) on specific product lines and/or applications.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise New Product Sales Specialists within the applicable product vertical
- Serve as a working manager, generating customer quotations as required
- Build, maintain, and retain relationships with key buying influences and key management contacts by building effective long-term relationships and customer loyalty, often in collaboration with the Account Manager.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company's available services, product lines, sales territories, product applications, and applicable pricing structures.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of various fluid and chemical types, pressure, and the mechanical functions of products in order to size/select the appropriate Customer Solution.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of OEM and Global Alliance Agreements and appropriately apply to the Customer Solutions Process.
- On occasion, when needed and requested by the Account Manager, make Customer site-visits to serve as a product/application SME in the Sales process.
- Serve as the technical product/application SME on Customer calls both directly and in collaboration with the Account Manager
- Facilitate intake of Customer Solutions requests and required specifications to then initiate the engineering of a Customer Solution quotation including:
- Sizing and selecting of valves, parts and applications
- Communication with Sr. level Engineering, Maintenance, Production and/or Supply Chain representatives at the Customer level to determine the appropriate solution
- Set the appropriate quotation pricing and margin per the Company BOA in order to provide a competitive Customer Solution.
- Sourcing of materials as needed
- Analyze Customer drawings and able to perform valve and instrument take-off as needed.
- Mentor and provide On-the-Job Training to the New Product Sales Specialist
- Provide oversight, input and approval when needed on the pricing and technical specifications of Customer Solution quotations developed by the New Product Sales Specialist
- Partner with the Operations team and Services Coordinators, when needed, to address Customer Service issues
- Create and maintain customer trust in the Company as a quality, value-added, solutions provider
- Accurately capture quote data in quote log and order information into Oracle or effectively pass on to administration for entry according to branch standard procedures
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred or equivalent technical school certification
- Alternatively 8-10 years of experience in a customer-facing role identifying and addressing customer needs within relevant industry
- Typically has 8-10 or more years of experience in a customer-facing role identifying and addressing customer needs within relevant industry
- Strong market reputation with the ability to attract business to the Company through customer relationships
- Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of valves and related products
- Intermediate understanding of the chemical, refining and power markets
- Intermediate knowledge of Oracle
- Advanced relationship with relevant suppliers
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform job function without supervision
- Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
