EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time, 216 Days, FLSA Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Curriculum, Education or related field
  • Administrative licensure through the Ohio Department of Education
  • Must possess design, development, and implementation experience within the areas of curriculum and assessment
  • Previous administrative experience that includes evaluation of staff
  • Willingness to work with students, faculty, staff and community partners as a team member
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and technology skills
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Hold a valid Ohio Driver's License

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Curriculum is responsible for the full deployment of a comprehensive teaching and learning plan and provides leadership in the areas of curriculum, assessment, instructional coaching, and technology integration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional services
  • Directs course of study and curriculum development for academic programming in compliance with ODE standards
  • Establishes and implements a five-year cycle of curriculum review, revision and instructional materials selection
  • Encourages the staff to develop and disseminate innovative and effective program materials
  • Assists building and district administrators at Secondary level with curricular related needs to ensure alignment between secondary and adult programming
  • Works closely with other administrators to ensure effective teaching strategies are utilized in classrooms
  • Assists in the development of a technology integration plan with Director of Technology
  • Provides information, training, and other resources to school personnel regarding curricular programming needs and instructional best practices
  • Supervises the development of a District Wide assessment calendar and schedule to ensure compliance with testing mandates (including End of Course, ACT, Webxam, and high-quality assessments for OTES, OPES, and OSCES)
  • Responsible for reviewing, evaluating and communicating results of District testing with administration and instructors
  • Coordination and management of programming enhancements for secondary and adult education, including but not limited to College Credit Plus (CCP), Tech Prep, articulations, bi-lateral agreements, Career Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs), and industry credentials
  • In collaboration with district administration, assists in the development and implementation of the District's continuous improvement plan and manages the CTPD plan
  • Provides leadership for all District accreditation processes for secondary education
  • Actively participates and ensures representation for the District at county, regional, and State level meetings related to curriculum, instruction and assessment
  • Attends professional conferences and State and Federal meetings, which will enhance the District's instructional programs, student services and special education programs and services
  • Works cooperatively with personnel in the District promoting good public relations
  • Oversees budgets for programs and services related to curriculum, instruction and assessment
  • Coordinates with EMIS and building administration in the appropriate documentation and coding of courses in our data systems
  • Compiles data, prepares and shares reports assigned by the Superintendent or Designee
  • Performs these and all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Designee

KNOWLEDGE OF: Board policies and procedures, building policies and procedures, student code of conduct, community resource agencies, emergency preparedness drills, public relations, federal and state reporting, and records management.

ABILITY TO: Interpret policies, procedures and regulations, follow instructions, communicate effectively, prepare, maintain, and file accurate and concise reports, collect data, recognize individual differences, lift a moderate amount of weight, develop a rapport with students, staff, co-workers, administration and the public.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

OCCASIONAL: Exposure to inclement weather driving conditions and severe weather, traffic, loud noise, unruly children/adults; attends functions or performs duties outside normal working hours; exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. Light lifting, up to 50 pounds.

PERIODIC: Exposure to inclement weather driving conditions and severe weather, heavy equipment, unruly children/adults; exposure to common childhood illnesses.

FREQUENT: Prolonged periods of standing and lifting (10-20 pounds) of supplies and materials. Bending, stooping and reaching for items. Follow all Board safety rules and procedures. Participate in the school safety training when requested.
