BAE Systems is currently looking for a Design Manager to lead a team focused on Computer Aided Design (CAD) and drafting of military navigation products for the NSS Organization. Candidates should have a solid understanding of printed circuit board and mechanical design methods and workflow, CAD modeling tools, drafting standards and configuration management methods. Candidates should also have a proven track record of leading teams either directly or indirectly to achieve complex design objectives and a passion to help coach and mentor others. This role is available as a Hybrid position.

In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for managing a group of Printed Circuit Board Designers, Mechanical Designers, Checkers, Component Librarian and Designer Lead
- Provide mentorship to the team, career guidance and performance feedback
- Be responsible for the overall performance of the team to meet the objectives of the business
- To shape and grow the team you will be integral in interviewing and hiring new team members and ensuring staffing levels and skill sets are aligned with the programs and business needs
- You will support the creation and revision of hardware design procedures and methods
- Monitor tools used by the team and support necessary upgrade planning
- Provide design status to engineering, leadership, and operations as required
- Participate in problem resolution and priority discussions
- Always look for ways to do things better and faster

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree
- Current US Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
- Experience managing printed circuit board and/or mechanical design efforts
- Familiarity with comprehensive printed circuit board and mechanical design process for initial release and revisions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Preferred Skills and Education
- 12+ years of experience in design of printed circuit boards or mechanical designs
- Expert with Dassault Systems ENOVIA PLM
- Experience managing teams
- Experience identifying, hiring, and training staff
- Ability to guide employees through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
- Experience presenting to technical audiences
- Highly motivated to solve complex problems and continuously improve
- Existing Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
