Our client, a Forbes luxury property, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Engineering to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in engineering management, preferably within the hotel industry, and demonstrate exceptional business acumen and organizational skills.

- Oversee all engineering operations and maintenance activities for the hotel, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for hotel operations, capital improvements, expenses, and labour, adjusting forecasts as needed.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of hotel facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Stay organized and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Previous experience as a Director of Engineering is preferred, with at least five years of managerial experience in engineering, ideally in a hotel environment.
- Strong business acumen, including experience in creating and managing annual budgets for hotel operations and capital improvements.
- Ability to problem-solve and stay organized in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Professional degree in an Engineering discipline or a trade degree in a specific technical field related to engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering).
- Certifications such as CEOE (Certified Engineering Operations Executive) from the Hotel and Motel Hospitality Association, BOMI (Building Owners Management Institution) designations, RPA (Real Property Administrator), FMA (Facility Management Administrator), or SMA (Systems Maintenance Administrator) are highly desirable.
