Description:

Tesla is seeking an Construction Estimator with relevant construction experience to support the buildout of Tesla's facilities and infrastructure. This position will be directly responsible for working on project management system deployment with heavy focus on system design visualization, stakeholder interface, and end user experience enhancement throughout the various project stages. In addition, this role will support the costs management and executive reporting through data visualization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and present high-level cost estimates for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Create detailed cost estimates as designs progress, collaborating with stakeholders on cost drivers and value engineering opportunities across all trades
  • Maintain a proactive approach to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with program goals
  • Define long-term strategies for estimation methodologies, tools, and systems for CAPEX projects
  • Estimate cost impacts related to design changes and construction strategies during project execution, working closely with project teams to forecast costs
  • Assist in preparing cost information for project funding requests to management as well as track and summarize estimate performance in collaboration with Finance
  • Contribute to the development of estimating standards, procedures, and systems, and provide input for future benchmarking and estimating tools


Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in estimation, preferably across all trades
  • Experience in estimating Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Piping, and life safety systems
  • Proven experience in value engineering and rapid cost modeling
  • Fundamental knowledge of construction processes; experience in construction management preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional organization with tight timelines and aggressive goals
  • Experience with change management procedures and ability to prepare cost trend/change estimates
  • Willingness to travel to project locations as needed (up to 50%), sometimes on short notice

    • Expected Compensation$88,000 - $300,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
