We're looking for someone to join our team as an Optometrist who:
Ensures excellence in patient care by conducting eye exams, addressing issues of disease and/or injury, and educating patients regarding the eye care options. Treat patients with compassion and work collaboratively with the rest of staff to meet all patient needs.

We're looking for someone to join our team as an Optometrist who:
Ensures excellence in patient care by conducting eye exams, addressing issues of disease and/or injury, and educating patients regarding the eye care options. Treat patients with compassion and work collaboratively with the rest of staff to meet all patient needs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide outpatient care for patients with eye related disorders and conditions for pediatric and adult populations.
- Take detailed medical histories for all patients, including current and past prescription medications.
- Conduct procedures, diagnose, and treat ocular disease to full scope of licensure.
- Prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, low vision aides, vision therapy, etc.
- Consults with other health care practitioners for co-management of eye diseases and systemic conditions.
- Provide adequate documentation of exam findings in electronic health records to meet audit and meaningful use criterions.
- Educate patients on proper eye care including eye hygiene and safety factors.
- Have excellent customer service and organization skills.
- Have advanced time management skills.
- Participate in staff development and training.
- Refer patients to trusted specialist as needed.
- Have positive attitude and team-oriented approach to patient care.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to patient care.
- Be compassionate and have professional chair side manner.
- Be able to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Must have solid working knowledge of all ophthalmic equipment needed to conduct examinations.
- Maintain continued commitment to remaining up to date on the latest research and techniques.
You will be successful with the following qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of optometry.
- Must have current California license of Optometry with TPA and TLG certification.
- Must have at least one year of full/part time experience working as an optometrist.
- Experience in electronic health record is highly preferred.
- Current BLS card through the American Heart Association required.
- Current CA driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Bilingual/fluent in Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Minimum two years of work experience in related field.
- Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.
- Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
