POSITION (S): Behavior Specialist - (Must be BCBA Certified) - Repost

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Specialized training and demonstrated expertise in school-based applied behavior analysis and behavioral interventions as well as program implementation in non-traditional ABA classrooms.
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive formal, informal functional behavior assessments and behavior interventions plans.
  • Experience working with at risk special education populations and students classified under the emotional disability category.
  • Possess experience, training and/or interest in working with BD students' population in which the BCBA can develop a behavioral framework for practice and implementation utilizing principles of Applied Behavioral Analyses.
  • The Behavioral analyst will collaborate and consult with members of the multidisciplinary team - including, but not limited to: Members of the Child Study Team, LCSW, LPS, School Psychologists, Special Education Teachers, Administrators, Students and their families.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and the Special Education Department deem appropriate and acceptable under state law.
  • PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Behavior Analyst assigned to this position will most likely not work directly with students with autism; however, the opportunity to consult with other BCBAs assigned to ABA classrooms is available.
  • Evaluates and analyzes individual student's comprehensive academic and behavior needs.
  • Develops comprehensive behavior protocols utilizing the best current practice methodologies in the field of A.B.A.
  • Trains teachers and paraprofessionals to implement individual behavior protocols and educational programming.
  • Collaborates with various professionals in the development, implementation and maintenance of individual and/or group behavior support plans.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently to families, professionals, and service providers in reference to principles of A.B.A. Including: Members of child study team, licensed clinicians, teachers, parents and administrators if needed.
  • Develops and disseminates professional development in-services a needed.
  • Coordinates the implementation and monitoring of behavior protocols across settings, time, and providers.
  • Behavior Analyst will serve as a behavioral consult to those professionals who are not train in the field of behavioral analysis.
  • Provides for the care and proper use of school property and maintains current inventories of materials/resources.
  • Completes accurately all required paperwork in a timely fashion and in approved formats.
  • Regards personal information concerning students or families as confidential and utilizes such information only as an aide in helping the student to attain appropriate educational goals.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Department Supervisor.
