With a brand new store and celebrating 65 years as a VW dealer, McDonald Volkswagen is growing and needs a dynamic sales manager to help with the current growth trajectory, which starts and ends with strong leadership skills to develop an already successful sales team. We are losing one manager to a promotion within the organization so we need to back fill the position with a strong leader who puts a priority on getting out from behind the desk to meet with customers as well as developing talent within our sales team. In 2018 we finished as the 186th ranked VW store (out of 641 stores). Fast forward to 2023 where we finished as the 49th ranked VW store and have our sights set on the top 20 for 2024. As of May 31, 2024 we are ranked #20 so we are well on our way but need more leadership to get us to our goal. About your role:

The Sales Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the retail sales floor. They are responsible for nurturing and cultivating a positive culture and work environment that aligns with the mission and values of the organization. The Sales Manager directs and leads teams to ensure that sales, operational, financial, and customer satisfaction metrics are achieved. They assure customers' needs are being met and that sales processes are being adhered to.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with our employees and customers to develop relationships and help to enhance the sales process.
  • Build rapport with customers to establish a customer network.
  • Provide training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing deals.
  • Help manage the productivity of the sales department.
  • Facilitate regular sales training for continued team growth.
  • Conducts sales training meetings.
  • Works with salespeople on programs to increase sales and helps close deals when necessary.
  • Appraises incoming used vehicles following established standards for appraising trades.

Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
  • 5 years of previous automotive sales experience is required.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • 1-year of Dealer System Management experience is preferred.
