The Construction Operations Manager has profit & loss and overall management responsibility for LB construction services. Current direct reports include two Project Managers and two Construction Supervisors. Construction crews (36 people) report to the Construction Supervisors through individual Crew Leaders. The Construction Operations Manager also has responsibility for oversight of LB's safety program and compliance with Lester and OSHA safe work practices and safety documentation. This position also prepares and manages the department's annual budget for administration, expenses and capital expenditures.
Responsibilities and Duties
This position reports to the LBS President and controls all aspects of building orders sold by the Territory Sale Managers, including construction services, material delivery, parts orders, and construction services sold beyond Lester's normal scope of work. The Construction Operations Manager works closely with the Direct Sales Manager to assure construction considerations are included in the Sales process.

- Budget preparation and oversight of the administration budget and the budgets of construction activities in 3 states.
- Project work site visits
- Management of state and local construction licenses
- Drives department to revenue and earnings goals
- Recruit and establish relationships with carpentry/framing subcontractors
- Job cost and labor analysis
- Review/approval of LB construction contracts
- Equipment and tool budgeting and procurement
- Maintain cost worksheets for Territory Sales Manager sales (Equipment Calculator, Dealer Parts pricing, Insulation, Concrete)
- Responsible for overall safety management of construction workforce.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years management/supervisory experience in the post-frame and/or commercial general construction industry
- Previous experience in construction site and/or office supervision and management
- Knowledge of post frame construction
- Knowledge of Commercial General Contracting contract formats and language and ability to negotiate same
- Construction drawing reading skills
- Working knowledge of construction job costing and financial reporting
- Proficiency in the use of ERP and various construction software (i.e. Epicor, Improv, Google docs, Microsoft Office suite, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze facts/data and make decisions accordingly
