THE PROJECT
The DarkStar Group's team provides Analytic Software Development, Data Engineering, and Cloud Migration services, as well as interagency communication and data-sharing solutions, as part of an enterprise program that spans two major Intelligence Community customers. This project regularly has new openings for Software Engineers, Cloud Infrastructure Experts, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, SharePoint Developers and Administrators, ServiceNow Developers, and various other types of IT professionals.
Work on this program takes place in Herndon, McLean, and Bethesda (we cannot support remote work) and requires a TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance (acceptable to this customer).

THE ROLE
The DarkStar Group is seeking a Software Developer to join our team. You will support our client by interacting with customers and development team to gather and define requirements. Analyzing and studying customer requirements to determine the most effective software technologies to satisfy their needs.
In this role you will:
- Support software architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems)
- Design, creates, tests, and maintains software-based applications to satisfy customer requirements
- Follow a formal design process using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and also adheres to laws, standards and established guidelines for development and delivery of software applications (e.g., reuse, modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant) o Coordinates creation and collection of necessary technology components and integrate them into a coherent site design
- Design and develop visually-pleasing, content rich, user-friendly interfaces with intuitive navigation
- Develop and maintain software development technical documentation to assist with software application maintenance and upgrades
- Provide software process management and configuration management throughout the software development lifecycle
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
