POSITION SUMMARY:
To use leadership and administrative skills in promoting the maximum educational development
of each middle school student.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Instructional Leadership
Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
Each staff member shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings. Each staff member has a legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
The qualifications listed above are intended to represent the education, experience, skill and ability levels typically needed to successfully perform the essential duties contained in this job description. POSITION SUMMARY:

of each middle school student.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in School Administration from an accredited College or University.
- Valid administrative certificate.
- Three years successful teaching experience.
Instructional Leadership
- Adheres to the District Board/administrator operating policies and guidelines.
- Promotes the District mission of "each student's growth and success". The Principal will set this expectation for students and all building staff.
- Will provide the support and reinforcement necessary for good staff morale within respective building.
- Make recommendations to the Directors based on needs identified by the assessment data, teacher recommendations and educational research.
- Will regularly make the Directors aware of pertinent information related to the respective program
- Will effectively interpret District positions and policies to subordinates to ensure their understanding and encourage their support.
- Insure appropriate extra co-curricular activities
- Screens, interviews, and recommends employment and contractual status of staff.
- Prepares master schedule.
- Assists and motivates teachers to develop and improve their professional standing through inservice and college courses.
- Supervises the athletic director and assistant principal.
- Evaluates and supervises all personnel.
- Serves as head of Building Leadership Council.
- Assigns staff within building to particular teaching or support positions.
- Be responsible for scheduling and conducting regular staff meetings.
- Selects Team Leaders and direction for teaming.
- Provides leadership in establishing and implementing educational goals and objectives for the school and in evaluating the accomplishment of these goals and objectives.
- Promotes the general health, safety, and welfare of the student body.
- Coordinate and evaluate the curriculum in accordance with the district curriculum policy.
- Establishes rules and sets the tone for student discipline in accordance with school board policy and current school law.
- Promotes the general health, safety, and welfare of the student body.
- Assists Guidance in the registration and scheduling of students.
- Makes final decision on suspension of students. Recommends to Superintendent on expulsion of students.
- Supports the school/community organizations.
- Develops and maintains positive written and verbal communication with the community.
- Encourages staff to maintain a positive relationship with community.
- Works with PTO to promote school/community relations and highlight student and teacher accomplishments.
- Directs the release of information of the school through appropriate communication techniques.
- Prepares a school budget which will adequately support school programs.
- Oversees the ordering and purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervises student activity accounts.
- Meets with team leaders to develop a building budget.
- Develops long range plans to address building needs.
- Assesses the general conditions and needs of the building and grounds and reports the same to appropriate support staff.
- Works with custodial and maintenance staff to ensure the proper cleanliness, repair and safety of the building and grounds.
- Participates in local, state, and national professional organizations.
- Read current professional literature.
- Visits other programs in other schools and attends educational conferences.
- Ensures the safety of students.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
