Gamma Vacuum is seeking a Full Time, On-Site, R&D Engineer in our Shakopee, Minnesota Product Company. The R&D Engineer will be responsible for working closely with engineering, production, and marketing teams to develop new products and customize exisiting ones.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop new products and technologies from concept to production
  • Design complex mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
  • Create engineering drawings, reports, and presentations
  • Conduct thorough analysis, build prototypes, develop test plans, and conduct tests to verify and validate new designs
  • Conduct designed experiments and process collected data to comprehensible records and overviews
  • Align with cross-functional team including electrical engineering and software engineering to ensure designs integrate into overall system architecture
  • Collaborate closely with other departments including manufacturing and project management to communicate needs, clear project roadblocks, accomplish tasks, and align work with company priorities
  • Manage own time and lead projects when required
  • To use rigorous problem-solving techniques and methods using appropriate tools and methods
  • Participate in technical design reviews, providing feedback to enhance quality and performance

Education level:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or equivalent working experience.

Knowledge areas/Skills:
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science and the ability to intuitively and effectively utilize them
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • HW/SW/Measurement knowledge, quality tools experience
  • Effective communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts across the organization
  • Able to prioritize several concurrent projects and multitask.
  • Action-oriented self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy/efficiency
  • Preferred: experience running projects.
  • Preferred: experience with vacuum systems
  • Preferred: experience CAD software (e.g. CREO)
  • Preferred: experience with design simulation including finite element analysis
