We are actively seeking a dynamic and innovative Estimating Business Analyst to join our team. The Estimating Business Analyst reports to the Director of Project Controls. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development and maintenance of cutting-edge data-driven tools crucial for accurate estimating and efficient management of construction projects across various scales and complexities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess site conditions prior to construction
  • Ability to familiarize themselves with the current estimating practices and Landmarks overall business
  • Ability to familiarize themselves with the architecture and functionality of the current estimating system
  • Ability to work independently to formulate a strategic plan to reformulate the existing estimate system
  • Recommend the best path forward regarding tools, program(s), functional with minimal direction
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain construction estimate tools to accurately calculate project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into functional tools.
  • Implement mathematical models and algorithms to automate and optimize the estimation process.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the estimate tools by conducting thorough testing and validation, and documenting test plans, procedures, and results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to construction estimating.
  • Provide training and support to users on how to effectively utilize the estimate tools.
  • Continuously improve and optimize existing tools based on feedback and evolving project needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors encountered with the estimate tools.
  • Expand functionality of existing tools through BI interfaces
  • Position will expand into other areas of Landmark businesses

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in complex data analysis and processing
  • Proven experience in developing Excel-based tools, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and VBA programming.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating principles, methodologies, and terminology.
  • Familiarity with project management software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience developing and/or refining relevant systems, reports, and policies and procedures.
