Old Redford Academy is hiring a full time Technology Director.
Old Redford Academy has new leadership, new direction and a new commitment to academic excellence. The academy is a tuition free, Pre-K to 12th grade academy that offers highly qualified teachers, free transportation, one-to-one student technology, an expansive athletic program, and a rigorous curriculum that is both standards based and culturally responsive.
The Technology Director ensures efficient delivery of technology resources for users District-wide; provides leadership in the integration of technology into the curriculum.
Old Redford Academy District is a charter district (public school academy) that serves approximately 950 students. Old Redford Academy is located in Detroit, Michigan. The district houses a GSRP Preschool program, elementary school, middle school, 9th grade academy, and high school.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and oversees the administration of educational technology and information services; assures efficient District-wide operation at all sites and in all departments.
- Prepares and monitors contracts for information services with outside vendors, agencies, and districts.
- Plans, develops, and directs construction, infrastructure, and classroom design of computer and emerging technologies; works with State and local government agencies and authorities to expedite technologies into the District, the schools, and the community; assists in interconnectivity.
- Coordinates the preparation of appropriate District information, communications, and educational technology plans.
- Prepares and administers the Educational Technology budget.
- Directs the evaluation, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and repair of information and communications technology equipment and software.
- Coordinates ongoing evaluation and recommends procedures to respond to instructional administrative needs for information and communications resources.
- Assures the validity of District information through the development of security and backup/recovery procedures.
- Identifies needs and directs staff in developing technology solutions for instructional programs.
- Designs and implements support systems and learning networks to increase capacity for the use of technology by teaching staff and District administration.
- Serves as the main contact for licensing, rostering, and maintaining logins for all digital programs
- Participates in digital program implementation and supports ongoing, on-site training for staff
- Assists in the technology resource review process and monitoring of digital programs
- Performs other duties as required.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Previous K-12 education experience.
