UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Ambulatory Care Nursing. This is a highly visible position, providing nursing and clinical leadership at our Montlake and Northwest medical center campuses.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Serve in a hands-on leadership role
Work with key stakeholders to shape the way we approach ambulatory care
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with medical and operational leaders to support ambulatory initiatives, ensuring plans are implemented in an efficient, effective manner
Serves on the Magnet Champions Committee, the Nursing Executive Committee, the Ambulatory Care Leadership Council, and other workgroups representing nursing professional practice
Mentors RN2s, RN3s, and Nurse Managers to the highest levels of nursing practice while maintaining high engagement in ambulatory operations
Provides leadership and oversight of clinical practice for Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators, and Medical Assistant Program Coordinators
Provides supervision to the Ambulatory Float Pool
Participates in the implementation of nursing philosophy and goals, consistent with Magnet and UW Medicine pillars
Maintains regulatory standards related to clinical care in the ambulatory setting
Partners with clinic leadership to promote employee and provider engagement
Provides oversight of nurse and medical assistant orientation to ensure appropriate onboarding and competency within their scope of practice
Assures compliance with organizational quality assurance and improvement programs
Reviews incident reports (Patient Safety Net) and related quality improvement activities
Reports on quality performance outcomes for selected programs
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Nursing
4 years of ambulatory nursing care experience
3 years in a clinical leadership role
Active licensure to practice as a RN in Washington State
