Tax Accountant - Sales and Use Tax Specialist

$90K to $100K plus bonus

Hybrid remote 2 days in office

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant specializing in sales and use tax. The ideal candidate will optimize multi-state tax processes, manage compliance, and assist with audits and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- File accurate and timely sales/use tax returns across multiple states

- Research and resolve tax issues

- Evaluate tax positions on contracts

- Manage tax exemption certificates

- Analyze and reconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts

- Support sales/use tax audits

- Assist with yearly tax returns and VAT-related tasks

- Collaborate with accounting team to ensure financial accuracy

- Develop strategies to improve tax accounting processes

- Maintain knowledge of current tax laws and regulations

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

- Minimum 5 years of sales & use tax experience

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Advanced Excel skills

- Experience with ERP software system

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- High standards of confidentiality and attention to detail
