Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Branch Manager II to join the team at our Downtown Santa Barbara Branch. The Branch Manager II will be sales oriented requiring adeptness in all aspects of branch management, sales, new account functions and security. Position requires the ability to generate, evaluate and successfully close on a wide range of consumer and business deposit and loan activities. The position will be a player/coach to the sales team and is required to lead, manage, direct, and motivate branch associates to maintain standards of high performance to goals and profitability.

Minimum Requirements, Activities & Responsibilities

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree, or commensurate banking experience
  • Minimum seven years sales experience
  • Minimum five years supervisory experience
  • Minimum seven years previous banking
  • The ability to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR), under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE ACT), and maintain the registration as required. These standards include, among other things, passing a criminal background check and a satisfactory credit report obtained from a consumer reporting agency.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for deposit growth through household acquisition and new business
  • Responsible for growing the segment of business lending
  • Oversee cross-selling efforts of the branch staff; facilitates staff referrals of bank and other line of business products and services
  • Responsible for development and implementation of annual and long-range business plans for the branch
  • Responsible and accountable for the overall branch adherence to policies and procedures as they apply to sales, service and operations

  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and customer service skills
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees
