POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Business Analyst Lead at Versant Power, you will be responsible for overseeing the application of the project intake process, as well as mentoring the team of Business Analysts to ensure a cohesive approach to project intake and discovery. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions, contributing to the overall technological transformation of the Company. As a Business Analyst you will also leads solution discovery including cost/benefit analysis, process and workflow documentation, high level budget projections, and solution identification and selection. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of both business processes and IT systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee a robust project intake process, including defining methodologies, developing documentation templates, and establishing evaluation criteria.
  • Implement and maintain project intake procedures to ensure alignment with company objectives and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the project intake process, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Business Analysts, guiding their professional development and contributing to their growth within the team.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document their needs and challenges.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maximize existing business technology or analytics solutions to address challenges.
  • Facilitate the intake and assessment of new projects.
  • Drive the development of project justification and high-level project plans.
  • Document current and future state business processes, workflows, and pain points.
  • Lead requirements gathering and analysis to develop business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Engage the IT Architect to assess how solutions will integrate with existing systems.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into understandable terms to bring alignment and clarity to scope and solution requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop test plans and ensure that IT solutions meet specified requirements.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and address issues identified during the testing phase.
  • Assist with high level budget estimates.
  • Contribute to and participate in requests for information, quotes, or proposals, as appropriate.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, include designated duties associated with System Restoration and System Emergency Operations Plan (SEOP).

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum10 years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading team members.
  • Prior experience with complex projects.
  • Experience with project intake methodologies, workflow, and process mapping documentation.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Electric utility experience a plus.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position is primarily stationary, with some walking, standing, and extended driving time required.
  • Irregular hours may be required at times.
  • A valid Maine driver's license is required.

RATE OF PAY:

Salary Level is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
