Description:
Position Summary: Oversee and direct the Oncology Data Services/Cancer Registry Department and the Oncology Accreditation program for the LifeBridge Health System. This includes but is not limited to entitles within Sinai Hospital, Carroll Hospital, Northwest Hospital, the Alvin and Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute and the William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center, which is subject to change at any time with the addition of facilities into the LifeBridge System. Ensure that all aspects of the Cancer Registry and the Oncology Accreditation program are organized and functional. Direct the employed and contracted Oncology Data Specialists and Assistants as they identify, abstract, and maintain oncology data records on all cancer patients. Analyze oncology data, disseminate information in accordance with professional ethics. Assure quality data, work effectively and efficiently, and maintain consistent and accurate collaboration with other LifeBridge staff, physicians, the Maryland Department of Health, and other oncology data coordinators throughout the state. Oversee and manage compliance of the LifeBridge Health System with American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) program standards.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to oncology data and cancer registry; develops and implements policies and procedures, and oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting of oncology data.
- Patient record keeping: Maintains quality of patient records according to the Maryland Department of Health and the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Data Standards.
- Department Operations: Works to establish department goals, plans, programs, and operations that are consistent with the organization's vision and mission.
- Directs Team: Directs and oversees a team of professionals in the Oncology Data Services/Cancer Registry and Oncology Accreditation Department.
- Provides data and reports: Provides LifeBridge Health System Oncology Data to leadership, clinical research, physicians, and other departments.
- Cancer Conference Support: Oversees LifeBridge Health System cancer conferences, CME tracking and applications, and American College of Surgeons Accreditation conference tracking requirements.
- Accreditation Support: Provides support and interpretive guidance on Accreditation Standards to LifeBridge stakeholders and evaluators before, during, and after site visits to assess compliance with the Standards of Accreditation.
- Communication Skills: Communicates effectively and efficiently with all parties involved in the accreditation program. Engages conversations related to the accreditation program via email and in meetings. Information is disseminated in accordance with professional ethics.
- Professional Development: Maintains current credentials and consistently enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature in-service meetings and workshops according to regulatory and certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline
- 3-5 years related experience
- ODS-C Certification required
