Description:

  • Assesses patients comprehensively by conducting interviews with patients, families, and relevant individuals; performing physical examinations; observing behaviors; examining medical histories and pertinent documents; administering and interpreting psychological assessments; and ordering and analyzing laboratory tests.
  • Constructs individualized treatment plans based on the assessment of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral challenges; sets specific treatment objectives and strategies.
  • Provides patient care through the application of psychotherapeutic techniques and prescription medications; engages in regular discussions about patient progress; offers guidance and instructions; monitors the efficacy of prescribed medications; oversees the delivery of services by staff.
  • Upholds a collaborative treatment approach by regularly reviewing patient progress and treatment strategies; engages in consultations and partnerships with primary care physicians, mental health professionals, nursing staff, and other healthcare teams.
  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality and safe care for both patients and staff by upholding institutional policies, protocols, standards, CMS and private insurance guidelines, and legal stipulations; actively participates in utilization reviews; remains accessible for urgent consultations.
  • Enhances team proficiency by organizing training sessions and discussions on the connections between psychosocial and physiological challenges, psychotropic medications, crisis management, and associated topics.
  • Maintains accurate records by diligently documenting symptoms, prescribed medications, and treatment outcomes; produces concise summaries when required.
  • Stays abreast of advancements in the field by engaging in continuous medical education opportunities; staying updated with professional literature; fostering professional connections; and actively participating in relevant professional associations.
  • Boosts the reputation of the department and organization by taking initiative in novel tasks and projects; seeking ways to augment job contributions and impact.
  • Administers psychotropic medications responsibly, ensuring adherence to state regulations concerning prescription practices.
  • Offers expert medication oversight and education to patients, aiming for optimal clinical results.
  • Operates in alignment with the terms and conditions outlined in the Employment Agreement between the employee and the practice.
  • Strives to elevate the standard of outpatient care provided, while accurately documenting billable hours for billing department processing.


Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine - Board Certified / Board Eligible
  • License Current valid license in the respective State hired to serve with a current and unrestricted DEA registration
