What You'll Do in This Position
This position is eligible for up to 100% telework. Amount of telework, if any, will be determined by job scope, candidate location, and other factors related to the position.
Position is for a Software Engineer to maintain OpenText Documentum Platform based Document Control and Records applications. Additionally, the person is responsible for compliance with departmental policies and processes and for performing all duties and activities in a safe and ethical manner.
Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance duties to ensure continued operations of existing production applications.
Gather design changes and problems/issues for revising existing production applications.
Manage the change cycle through coding, testing, acceptance, and production rollout.
Perform analysis, design, coding and/or testing to effectively migrate existing applications to alternative platforms.
Fix causes, not just solutions. Work to eliminate recurring problems and improve supportability.
Watch for trends that indicate potential problems and then eliminate the problems before they happen.
Keep peers informed of trends, significant problems, unexpected delays, and anything new in the environment.
Keep customers informed of global problems, scheduled downtime or anything that affects the computing environment.
Keep customers informed of progress on problems that cannot be resolved on first call.
Participate in group problem solving, communicate effectively, respect ideas of others, identify win-win outcomes, and accept the judgment of the group.
Qualifications We Desire
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience with OpenText Documentum Software version 16.7 or higher, including WebTop, xPlore and Content Server
Experience with Java Based Commercial Of the Shelf (COTs) software
Experience with Restful API Development
Knowledge of computer languages, and software development fundamentals/methodology/lifecycle.
Experience with Oracle relational database management systems using SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and/or troubleshooting queries, procedures, etc.
Experience working with customers to gain an understanding of their business requirements and assist with translating the information into system requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with functional and technical persons, including various levels of management.
