Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI), located near Oshkosh WI, is looking to hire a full-time Director of Nursing to typically work Monday - Friday, including on-call responsibilities. WMHI is a part of the Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) and is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.

Position Summary
As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Salary Information
The starting pay is approximately between $124,800 and $139,400 per year (approximately between $60.00 and $67.00 per hour), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 50/20.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Position Summary
As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Improving organizational performance and continuously improving patient health outcomes.
- Monitoring, teaching, and enhancing the "Plan, Do, Check, Act" approach to Quality Management in all decision making throughout WMHI.
- Facilitating a coordinated, systematic, hospital-wide approach to improving patient care and health outcomes.
- Advocating for and encouraging collaboration across disciplines in program development and service delivery
- Ensuring the continuous and timely availability of nursing services to patients.
- Ensuring nursing standards of patient care, and nursing practice are consistent with current nursing research findings and ANA standards of Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nursing Practice, Joint Commission, and CMS regulatory standards and the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
- Participating in the hospital's leadership functioning as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Collaborating with Nursing Care Coordinators, Nursing Supervisors, and nursing staff to assess skills and learning needs, and arrange for continued education and development of nursing staff and self.
- Supervising the Scheduling Coordinator and directs the efforts of the scheduling office.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin by the employee's start date. Eligible includes currently registered as a professional nurse in another state and are eligible to obtain licensure in WI OR graduate nurses within three months of graduation (must have Nursing Temporary Permit License upon hire).
- Experience or training in ensuring staff compliance with national and state professional nursing standards of care.
- Experience providing training to staff on patient or facility health care topics or professional nursing standards of practice.
- Experience as a supervisor or manager of licensed health care staff. Examples of duties performed include evaluating staff performance, hiring and disciplining staff, managing workload, etc.
- Experience or training in quality improvement methods and measures to enhance health care programs or systems.
- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team including internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive patient care.
- Experience working with psychiatric or incarcerated patients.
- Experience meeting and maintaining accreditation standards set forth by the Joint Commission, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and the Division of Quality Assurance (DQA).
