Description:

The Electrical Engineer II position will be an enthusiastic, focused, team-oriented individual responsible for the development of state-of-the-art electrical and electronic designs for use in commercial and military fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft. The developed electronics will be integrated in severe aerospace environments with regard to considerations such as altitude, thermal, vibration, EMI, lightning, etc. The Electrical Engineer II will participate in the definition of the product, originate specifications, develop design documents, participate in debugging activities, develop verification/validation plans and procedures, produce reports, or generate other documentation in support of design and development activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design new products and modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, regulatory, industry standard, and market requirements
Perform requirements analysis based on customer needs, define the concepts, establish the functional architectures, and organic electronics in concert with systems engineers
Both structure and formalize the design requirements for electronics and develop the corresponding specifications
Perform analog and digital design, circuit analysis, simulation and generate any design justification documentation
Provide support and relevant documentation for other engineering teams (such as software, FPGA firmware, mechanical, and materials) to develop and modify new and existing products
Perform product troubleshooting and lab testing
Coordinate and support prototype manufacturing of new designs
Prepare, review, and approve documentation, test procedures, etc. to define/validate designed products
Participate in and occasionally lead multi-discipline design reviews both internally with peers and externally with customers
Provide technical support to internal departments, suppliers, and customers as related to the product
Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture
Other duties may be assigned
Evening/night hours may be required and/or extra hours may be required during business peaks

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
A minimum five (5) years' experience in electrical/electronic engineering design in a regulated industry
Experience in analog and digital circuit design including op-amps, comparators, discretes, ADCs, and power switching circuits
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and solving technical problems related to circuit and system failures
Hands-on experience with typical electrical test and measurement equipment

Travel specifictity
Occasional travel (less than 5% annually) within the U.S./Outside the U.S.

The work environment is split between office and laboratory work, with most work being performed in the office. The noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the lab can occasionally require hearing protection.
