The OPS/PACU nurse will ensure a safe post-operative environment while performing critical care for patients immediately after surgery. We are looking for someone who is energetic and likes to work in a fast paced environment. The RN is responsible for collaboration with the anesthesia providers while developing the plan of care for patients of varying acuity levels providing care for patients having elective and emergent procedures. If you have interest in managing post anesthesia care to include pain management, hemodynamic stability or preparing patients for surgery or educating a patient on post-operative care at home, then this job is for you! Team lead who is responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day operations within assigned department by serving in a clinical capacity routinely as needed (charge and/or team member). Maintains clinical competence, knowledge, and skills to provide care appropriate to the age and services provided. Acts as resource for all staff. Assist Director or Nurse Manager with quality assurance and performance improvement activities. In addition, the Team Lead role facilitates department education and competencies for new and existing staff in collaboration with the Director or Nurse Manager. Assists the Director or Nurse Manager in ensuring that the facility procedures and practices are compliant per accrediting body.

Education
- High school diploma / GED
- Nursing Degree (ADN / Diploma)
- BSN obtained within two years of start date.
Licensure/Certification
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
- Annual education for unit-specific and hospital skills
- Annual education per hospital certifications
- BLS
- ACLS/PALS if required for team members in specific unit
Experience
- Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse in an area assigned.
