POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Director - School Support will support the Schools & Academics division with the execution of the district's academic strategy. With a primary focus on supporting the implementation of key initiatives that promote the academic improvement of schools (including the district's turnaround strategy), the Program Director will also manage key projects related to district-wide talent initiatives (including Excellence in Teaching & Leadership recognition) and the capacity-building of principals, assistant principals, and school-based leadership teams.
This position reports to and works closely with the Deputy Superintendent to coordinate the direct support provided to schools by various members of the Schools & Academics team. This role will also collaborate regularly with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment of support for goals of the Schools & Academics division.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Master's degree required.
- Must hold a valid Georgia Professional Certification at a Level 5 or higher in a teaching or service field and in Educational Leadership (A copy of the Georgia certificate must be on file or a letter of eligibility from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission may document leadership certifications from another state) Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation
WORK EXPEREINCE:
- 5 years leadership experience supporting school improvement/operations Experience in a large urban district preferred
- Liaise with the Deputy Superintendent, Associate Superintendents, Teaching & Learning leaders, and other divisions to provide direct support to schools, with a specific focus on turnaround schools.
- Manage and continue to refine the district's turnaround strategy, ensuring the appropriate allocation and expenditures of resources within turnaround schools, monitoring the various strategic investments embedded within the strategy, facilitating professional learning, and evaluating the outcomes associated with the strategy.
- Oversee various talent initiatives including the selection process for Excellence in Teaching awards and the annual Assistant Principal of the Year and Principal of the Year honors.
- Manage the district's academic "resource hub," ensuring that schools can easily find resources from various trainings and initiatives.
- Oversee communication from the Schools & Academics division, including ensuring websites for all of the departments within the division are maintained and kept up-to-date.
- Manage all logistics and content development for principal meetings, assistant principal meetings, school-based leadership team meetings, and the district's annual leadership retreat.
- Manage special projects as assigned by Deputy Superintendent.
- Manage departmental budget.
- Coordinate with all central office departments to document, memorialize, and communicate various school-facing standard operating procedures.
- Provide support in preparing for weekly Schools & Academics Leadership Team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
