POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Operations Manager will ensure that all administrative support functions of the Facilities Services Department are carried out effectively for the department to fulfill its mission of ensuring that instructional facilities are conducive to learning and are properly maintained. This position manages, oversees, and trains staff that provide administrative support to all business operations within the Facilities department including, but not limited to, maintenance and operations, capital improvement, human resources (including payroll/timekeeping), finance, procurement, and special projects. The Business Operations Manager is responsible for human resources management, communication management (i.e., website, social media, internal/external communications), electronic file management, task management and policy development/management. This position is considered essential; therefore, a successful candidate shall expect to work some early/late hours, weekends, holidays as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Technical Management, Finance, Public Policy or closely related field required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
N/A.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
5 years of business or project management experience required.

- Skilled in data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, with knowledge of information technology.

- Knowledge and experience with Lawson or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge and/or experience with KRONOS/UKG and information technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manages input to payroll systems development and compliance; continually review processes and work practices to ensure that the time and compensation of department employees is accurate.
- Maintains direct correspondence with the district payroll department to ensure compliance with procedures.
- Maintains management oversight on human resource functions, including working with the district's human resources department to ensure that open positions are properly posted with necessary talent management.
- Provides supervision and management to the staff that perform business operations administrative support.
- Performs communication management to both internal and external customers by employing multiple mediums of information (i.e., website/social media, internal electronic communications, etc.).
- Develops, coordinates and implements systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Maintains quality service by applying customer service standards, analyzing, and resolving customer service problems and recommending system improvements.
- Collaborates with executive leadership and other management level staff from the various systems (i.e., work order management, human resource/payroll, budgeting/expenditures, procurement, capital project management) and ensures the successful implementation of any related project (e.g., allocation of resources, completion of project deliverables, close out documentation, timely reviews, and proper approvals).
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours, and as needed.
