IV. Position Summary
As our Manager, Electrical Engineering, you'll be deeply involved in the technical intricacies of developing high-power and control electronics for our state-of-the-art multi-rotor drone systems. This involves leading the charge from initial concept through to production, managing all aspects of PCB design, and overseeing the meticulous process of electronics documentation and failure analysis. Your technical expertise will be vital in integrating ISR and radio transceiver equipment and ensuring compatibility with our modular payload systems.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you'll ensure our success by prioritizing and tasking the electrical engineering team, maintaining development schedules, and reporting on the current status of initiatives. Your ability to mentor and provide career coaching will enhance the professional growth of your team members and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Your contributions will not only be technical; you will also be instrumental in maturing the design process and contributing to the product roadmap, helping to develop new features and products. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and a forward-thinking approach to engineering challenges. VI. Key Accountabilities
1) Technical Leadership and Product Development:
Lead the design and development of high-power and control electronics for multi-rotor drone systems from concept through to production
Oversee all aspects of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, manufacturing, and testing
Conduct comprehensive electronics documentation, ensuring detailed and accurate design, manufacturing, and test processes
Perform electronics failure analysis and mitigation, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our products
2) Team Management and Mentorship:
Task and prioritize the electrical engineering team's activities to align with product development milestones and integration activities
Manage departmental manpower planning, including job descriptions, hiring, new hire orientation, and performance assessments
Provide mentorship and career coaching to team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team environment
3) Innovation and Collaboration:
Contribute to the product roadmap by proposing new features and products based on the latest industry trends and internal insights
Interface with technicians to facilitate effective electronic assembly and testing
Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure the timely and quality manufacturing of electronic subassemblies
VII. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or comparable); Master's preferred
Minimum of 7 years electronics/PCB design experience
Integrated Product Team (IPT) or other technical leadership experience
RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 and associated noise mitigation experience
Experience with Altium, Mentor Graphics PADS, Xpedition, Autodesk Eagle, Mentor Graphics HyperLynx (or equivalent)
Experience integrating CoM and/or SoM
Advanced PCB layout techniques
Electronics packaging (3D modeling/CAD experience)

Experience with drones and/or autonomous systems
Ability to thrive in a high-tempo environment and adapt to shifting priorities
Strong initiative and drive to meet company objectives
