The Facilities Manager is responsible for overall management of the physical plant of facilities and fleet owned or leased by Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, ensuring the safety and functionality of all facilities.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overall management of the physical plant of facilities and fleet owned or leased by Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, ensuring the safety and functionality of all facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within facilities management or property management
- Bachelor's Degree, or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent experience
- Experience developing and maintaining facility budgets
- Experience in negotiating and handling contracts
- Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to resolve complex issues and demonstrate good judgement.
- People management experience working across multiple disciplines and the ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, clients, vendors and team members
- Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills
- Must have valid CA driver's license and proof of Insurance
- Ability to travel to multiple work sites is required
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds with or without assistance
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull, twist and grip items with or without assistance
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and knowledge of building maintenance
- Knowledge of occupation hazards and corresponding safety procedures
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Negotiates contracts with service providers and vendors. Ensures services provided are complete and of good quality.
- Directs, oversees and evaluates the work of the facilities team.
- Regularly inspects facilities to ensure compliance with all government safety regulations.
- Develops and implements routine maintenance plans for all building sites.
- Responds to emergency maintenance issues. Works with facilities team and vendors to ensure emergency work is completed as soon as possible.
- Ensure all buildings are prepared for changing weather conditions.
- Ensures maintenance ticketing IS system is properly utilized and updated.
- Provides regular and timely communication to management, regarding pertinent facility issues or updates.
- Creates reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for leadership and other relevant staff.
- Schedules janitorial services, to ensure building interiors are attractive and hygienic.
- Oversees space planning and the purchasing/leasing of building equipment and furniture.
- Acts as lead on all tenant improvement and construction projects. Primary interface with construction and architectural vendors and capital funder monitors.
- Ensures proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors and security professionals.
- Coordinates with program staff, to ensure all agency vehicles are properly maintained, and have updated insurance and license documentation.
- Ensures that all required licenses, insurance forms, inspection documents and other certifications are up to date and posted (when required.)
- Manages agencywide facilities budget.
- Ensures that invoices submitted are accurate and on time.
