University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiographer in the ECHO LAB to work in our UWMC - Montlake location

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center - Montlake provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services.

Our services include general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services. We emphasize imaging quality by ensuring our dedicated team of sonographers have time to perform a comprehensive examination - including the use of advanced techniques - on every patient.

WORK SCHEDULE:
100% FTE, day shift 8a - 4:30p
On-Call shifts

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform and analyze comprehensive complex diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures such as Transthoracic Echo (TTE), Dobutamine Stress Echo (DSE), Treadmill Echo (TME) on adults and adolescents
Assist physicians with Transesophageal Echo (TEE) procedures on patients referred for evaluation of suspected or known heart disease, post-operative evaluation of surgical therapy, or placement of cardiac prosthetic devices
Participates in the Cardiac Sonographer On-Call rotation at the main Montlake Echo Lab site
Perform echo cardiographic studies in the cath lab and assist team with pericardiocentesis, TAVR placement, EtOH ablations, echo guided biopsies and other procedures

REQUIREMENTS:
Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

OR
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

*Two years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer is required to be eligible for the recruitment incentive.
