The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Public Affairs (PA) Directorate seeks a highly motivated Public Affairs Specialist.
Position Duties Include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, develop, integrate, coordinate, and execute public affairs program overarching research, planning, execution and evaluation support for AFRL exhibiting events and local outreach activities.
- Provide overarching research, planning, execution and evaluation support for the AFRL exhibiting events and local outreach activities.
- Develop, plan, and execute communications to multiple key audiences to achieve desired communications effects, including enterprise-wide internal messaging activities and initiatives.
- Closely track specific topics under AFRL's technology and business initiative portfolios and drive appropriate recommendations for communications on these subjects.
- Lead one or more team members in their assigned areas of responsibility and work with multiple teams across Public Affairs.

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level of the position being advertised. Specialized experience is experience in public affairs, government communications, government relations, media operations, public relations or a similar professional capacity.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Males must be registered for Selective Service, www.sss.gov.
- You may be expected to travel for this position.
- Incentives may/may not be authorized.
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, mass communications or a similar field, or equivalent experience is highly desired.
- Applicants should have communications event planning experience and a working knowledge of various Public Affairs functions to include media operations, event planning, digital media communications and creative/visual information.
